Director of Operations

Ramos Law

Hi! My name is Dr. Jim Hoven and I’ve had the pleasure of taking care of patients as a Doctor of Chiropractic since 1991. Throughout that time, I’ve met hundreds of people who’ve suffered injuries as a result of accidents on the road or at work, and thousands of patients who needed help with pain or who just wanted to feel good or perform at their best. Regardless of the type of care my patients needed, the thing I found the most rewarding was watching their quality of life improve when they felt good!

One part of my career that I’ve treasured dearly has been the opportunity to teach, speak and train thousands of people across the United States in the area of health and wellness. I’ve been so very fortunate to speak to companies of all sizes about dealing with injuries and stress and have also been asked to train thousands of chiropractors and their team members in the areas of chiropractic rehabilitation and soft tissue work, business best-practices, and proper coding and documentation procedures.

All of my past experiences have prepared me to serve our Ramos Law team and every client who puts their trust in us to walk them through the incredibly challenging time following an injury, or after having been treated poorly. For me, it’s an honor to act as a guardian of the people who need someone to be on their side.

As COO for Ramos Law, I have the incredible experience of serving our CEO Daniel Filbert and Dr. Ramos by using my experience in business systems and leadership training to have a positive impact on each department and each team member within the firm. I also get to assist our team members through training and resource opportunities that allow them to grow and to take care of our clients at the highest levels..

When not at work, I love spending time with my wife and kids as well as the incredible group of friends I’ve been blessed to be surrounded by. Being outside, fly fishing, exercise and watching football all recharge my batteries so I can give my best each and every day.

Dr. Patrick Collins, D.C., Esq. Related Seminars and Products

Patrick Collins Esq. LLC

Dr. Collins is a veteran who enjoyed a career as a commercial pilot and later as a successful chiropractor. After starting a private practice and working several years as a chiropractor, he realized he could do more to help injured individuals. He has worked with hundreds of people who had sustained injuries from wrecks, crashes, and collisions, and found that many weren’t receiving the legal representation they deserved. Dr. Collins decided it was time for a career change, leading to my graduation from law school in 2010.

Now he uses my medical knowledge and legal training to give my clients the best outcome possible. Previously, he could only help with their medical concerns, but there is much more to personal injuries than medical problems. He saw first-hand not only how my chiropractic clients suffered medically but also financially. They struggled to get their lives back on track, even after their body healed.

Ramos Law

Hello, my name is Dr. Joseph Ramos and simply put, I love helping people. It’s in my DNA; my calling, you could say. I learned it from a young age watching my parents take care of stranded travelers in our very small rural town in central Nevada. My parents owned a gas station, and I worked there every day from the time I was 10 years old. I watched my dad fix tires for free, or fill up someone’s gas tank when they didn’t have any money. I saw many families stay overnight in our home when the weather wasn’t suitable for travel. I can’t tell you how many strangers my mom fed. It was commonplace. It was easy. It was the right thing to do.

I grew up and left my small town, but the values I learned from my parents have stayed with me. I paid my own way through college, medical school, and later – law school. Soon after medical school,
I met my wife and together we are raising four great kids. I’ve led a very active life from hunting and fishing with my kids, to achieving a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, to trying out for the Olympic trapshooting team at 13 years old, to most recently becoming a private pilot. I think it’s apparent I love adventure and living life to its fullest.

It was during my medical career providing expert medical testimony that I realized I could help people even more with a law degree, so I went to law school. I learned as a medical expert that personal injury claims are more about the injuries than the law. To present the injuries to an insurance company or a jury, you must understand them. For this reason, as a medical doctor, I am a very effective personal injury attorney.

Whether it has been in medicine or in law, I hold true to the values I learned from that small town and my parents. I treat people fairly and justly, and truly want the very best for each and every person I take care of. I take my role as an attorney very seriously. I realize it’s an important position I have, getting my clients back on the road to recovery whether it be from a car accident, a sports injury or an injury on the job. What I do on their behalf impacts their life and their long-term health. It is a big responsibility. But for me… it is easy. It is the right thing to do.
