Walker, Esq., employment attorney at Fairfield and Woods, P.C., will discuss Colorado’s pay equity law, the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, Colorado’s new paid family and medical leave law, and other emerging and timely employment law issues.

Whether in the courtroom or the boardroom, Colin provides strategic counsel for clients facing complex employment and commercial problems. His clients benefit from more than 20 years of trial and litigation experience including employment, commercial, and intellectual property litigation. As a former criminal prosecutor with the State’s Attorney Office for Baltimore County, Maryland, Colin has tried many bench and jury trials.

Colin has represented a variety of clients from start-ups to large employers, regarding employment disputes. He handles disputes involving trade secrets, non-compete agreements, termination issues, unemployment proceedings, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage claims, and other employment-related conflicts. Colin’s recent experience includes representing a company in a trade secret dispute, defending a public hospital from alleged Family and Medical Leave Act violation claims, and defending a salesperson against allegations of a breach of a non-solicitation agreement. His goal is to proactively prevent litigation by helping clients identify and plan for potential problems in the workplace.

As part of his interest in employment law, Colin serves as Legislative Director for Mile High Society for Human Resource Management and the Colorado Society for Human Resource Management. His work with these groups includes launching an advocacy program, a Day at the Capitol event, and testifying before Colorado’s legislature regarding pending legislation.
