Christopher J. Centeno, M.D. is an international expert and specialist in Interventional Orthopedics and the clinical use of bone marrow concentrate in orthopedics. 

 

Dr. Centeno is one of the few physicians in the world with extensive experience in the culture expansion of and clinical use of adult bone marrow concentrate to treat orthopedic injuries. His clinic incorporates a variety of revolutionary pain management techniques to bring its broad patient base relief and results.  Dr. Centeno treats patients from all over the US who travel to Colorado to undergo innovative, non-surgical treatments. Dr. Centeno has chaired multiple international research-based conferences.  He also maintains an active research-based practice, with multiple publications listed in the US National Library of Medicine.  Dr. Centeno has also served as editor-in-chief of a medical research journal dedicated to traumatic injury.

 

Dr. Centeno trained at the Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Medical Center, and the Institute for Rehabilitation Research.  He hails from both Florida and New York and currently resides in Boulder, Colorado with his wife and three children.

Dr. Markle is originally from Florida and he did his PM & R residency at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama. Post-residency, Dr. Markle was a CSC fellow in Interventional Orthobiologics. During his fellowship, he gained significant experience in the new field of Interventional Orthopedics and regenerative medicine, honing his skills in advanced injection techniques into the spine and joints treating patients with autologous, bone marrow concentrate and platelet solutions.

 

Dr. Markle has been certified by Dr. Centeno as an advanced upper cervical practitioner who can perform complex posterior upper cervical procedures. He is being trained on the ePICL procedure.

 

Dr. Markle both treats patients and trains Interventional Orthobiologics. Dr. Markle is an active board member of the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation and serves as a course instructor, where he trains physicians from around the world.

 

Dr. Markle is an outdoor sports enthusiast. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, mountain biking, Olympic weightlifting and Crossfit, and spending time with his wife and two dogs.

Dr. Pitts is originally from Chicago, IL but is a medical graduate of Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. After Vanderbilt, he completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  In residency, he gained much experience in spine and sports medicine through fluoroscopically guided spinal procedures and ultrasound guided peripheral joint injections. However, Dr. Pitts wanted to broaden his skills and treatment options beyond the current typical standards of care. Thus, he came to CSC as a fellow to learn more about regenerative medicine and interventional orthobiologics.

 

Dr. Pitts has been certified by Dr. Centeno as an advanced upper cervical provider who can both perform upper cervical posterior treatments and the ePICL procedure. He has been involved in the research and development of regenerative procedures since completing his CSC fellowship in 2014 and is an expert in treating the anterior longitudinal liagment.

He is the current CSC fellowship director, teaches Regenexx affiliates, and regularly teaches at regenerative medicine conferences. Additionally, he has interests in nutrition, supplements, and complementary and alternative medicine. He has written a nutrition guide; Nutrition 2.0: 21st Century Guide to Nutrition and Health as Dr. Pitts believes in taking a holistic approach to patient care.  He also is a main editor of the Atlas of Interventional Orthopedics, the first full textbook on the new field of Interventional Orthopedics to educate physicians on why and how to perform these injection procedures. Dr. Pitts is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In his spare time, he enjoys most outdoor activities, sports, biking, hiking, snowboarding, lifting weights, and traveling with his wife and 2 children.

Cameron Bearder is a practicing chiropractor with a focus on innovative solutions for complex head and neck conditions. With multiple post-graduate fellowships, he maintains one of the few practices in the country that combine Upper Cervical Chiropractic and Functional Neurology.

Dr. John Stenberg is the founder of Zenith Upper Cervical Chiropractic in Colorado Springs, CO where he specializes in upper cervical chiropractic for complex conditions related to the craniocervical junction. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University and holds certification in Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Technique. In the last ten years, Dr. Stenberg has served various board and committee roles for upper cervical chiropractic organizations, contributing to professional development objectives, university relations, and conference planning and execution. He was awarded Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractor of the year in 2021 for his contributions. Additionally, Dr. Stenberg founded and hosts the Atlas of Chiropractic Podcast, with over 150 episodes discussing the science and practice of upper cervical chiropractic. Dr. Stenberg co-authored a 2016 case series demonstrating the resolution of female infertility under upper cervical chiropractic care and holds memberships in the International Chiropractic Association’s Council on Upper Cervical Care, the Blair Technique Membership Association, and Professional Hockey Chiropractic Society.
