Description

In this immersive seminar, clinicians will gain a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for evaluating and treating upper extremity conditions from wrist and hand dysfunction to elbow pain and shoulder instability.
Drawing on advanced extremity adjusting techniques and real-world case management strategies, this course moves beyond a spine-only approach and teaches clinicians how to confidently manage upper extremity conditions as a reliable, outcomes-driven part of practice. Emphasis is placed on understanding how joint mechanics, load tolerance, soft tissue health, and neuromuscular control interact to create persistent pain or long-term dysfunction.
Attendees will learn to:
- Assess motion, load tolerance, and tissue contributions to upper extremity pain
- Diagnose common upper extremity conditions with greater precision
- Apply hands-on extremity adjustments that are gentle, specific, and highly effective
- Sequence joint correction, soft-tissue intervention, and corrective movement strategies to restore durable function
- Communicate diagnoses, expectations, and treatment plans clearly to improve patient confidence and compliance
To enhance stability, proprioception, and functional carryover, this seminar also includes hands-on instruction in the clinical application of Kinesio® Taping as an integrated component of upper extremity care. Participants will learn proper tape selection, preparation, tension, direction, and layering techniques to support neuromuscular function and reinforce treatment outcomes. Taping applications are taught as a clinical adjunct, supporting adjustments, rehabilitation strategies, and return-to-activity planning not as a standalone intervention.
Instruction covers the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand, with clinical examples including shoulder impingement, medial and lateral epicondylitis, thoracic outlet–type presentations, and sport-related upper extremity complaints. Approximately 75% of the seminar is hands-on, allowing participants to practice both extremity adjusting and taping techniques under direct faculty supervision. If time permits, an educational demonstration of emerging Medical Kinesio Taping concepts may be presented.
This seminar equips clinicians with a repeatable, high-confidence upper extremity system that improves outcomes across athletes, manual laborers, and chronic pain patients alike.
