Update:
A Texas court issued a preliminary injunction on December 3, 2024, halting enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), including its January 1, 2025, deadline for Beneficial Owner Information (BOI) reporting. The ruling found the CTA likely unconstitutional, as it exceeds Congress's authority, and extended a nationwide injunction.
This decision temporarily relieves small businesses, including chiropractic practices structured as corporations or PLLCs, from submitting BOI reports to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
However, the situation is subject to change based on the court’s final ruling. Due to this, we still recommend you submit your BOI to FinCEN and avoid the potential daily $500 fines.
